Welcome to Mathews High School. I hope the information provided about our school and its success helps you better understand what our school has to offer. Every student in our school is important to our staff, and their success is our success.
The key to our success as a school is the hard work of our staff and students. Our staff is made up of quality people and professionals who truly believe all students can learn regardless of circumstance. We will spend a lot of time encouraging and motivating our students to learn. Our students know they have a job to do when they come to school each day, and we have high expectations for every student, every day. We also will track the progress of each one of our students in their classes at monthly team meetings. We will provide many interventions that range from a little academic help, to more intensive help. Our teachers will work hard with those students who struggle to learn and they will get results. Our teachers differentiate instruction in the classroom to meet the needs of low, middle, and high achieving students. We will use data to adjust instruction in the classroom and in intervention rooms to meet the needs of our students. Creating a welcoming, loving, supportive, engaging, and high interest school environment is a big part of what we will do each day. In short, we really care about our students and their future. We have a plan and will work the plan each day to make every student successful.
