GENERAL  INFORMATION

SCHOOL DAYS

Currie opens to students at 8:45.  Please do not drop off your child before 8:45  as there will be no one to supervise their activity.  Formal instructions begins at 9:05 and concludes at 3:20.  Any student being picked up at the end of the day,  must be signed out in the office.

VISITORS

During regular school hours  ALL visitors must use the front entrance and sign in at the main office.  All other doors are locked for safety.  A visitor's button must be obtained and worn by anyone preceding to any part of the building other than the main office.

ATTENDANCE

On the day as the student is to be absent,  the student's parents,  legal guardian or other responsible person is to notify the school by 10:00 AM.   A secretary is on duty at 8:00 AM to answer calls.  Students must still bring in a written excuse upon returning to school.

EMERGENCY  SCHOOL CLOSINGS

In the event that weather or emergency conditions necessitate the closing of school,  information will be announced on the following TV and radio stations:   WBBW,  WRRO,  WKBN,  WQXK,  WPIC,  WHOT, WYFM, WANR,  WYSU & Channels 21, 27  and 33.   School closings will be announced between  6:00 AM and 7 AM.

GRADING

The following grading scale will be used to determine grades.

93% - 100%       = A
85% - 92%          = B
75% - 84%          = C
 74% - 65%          = D
64% and below  =  F
 

 93% - 100%   O = Outstanding
75% - 92%      S = Satisfactory
65%-74%  NI = Needs Improvement
64% and below  U= Unsatisfactory

 

REPORT  CARDS

Report cards are given on the Fridays following the end of each nine week period.

ACADEMIC  RECOGNITION

To be eligible for Academic Recognition a student must receive all A's,  B's,  S's,  and  O's for the yearly average.  An Academic Recognition Certificate will be given on the last day of school.
